We are looking for a mechanic to join us at J&A Automotive!

We are a small VW & BMW independent specialist garage, owned by Jordan & Alana and we are based in Brownsburn Industrial Estate in Airdrie.

 

We are looking for a skilled and passionate mechanic to join our team and work on our amazing customers vehicles with the highest level of workmanship and respect. We are looking for someone who can confidently carry out servicing, repairs and diagnostic work on different brands of vehicles, predominantly VAG group & BMW vehicles.

 

The work we carry out includes clutch replacement, timing belt changes, timing chain replacement, all types of servicing including haldex and gearbox, air con servicing, wheel alignment and suspension component replacement, engine repairs, electrical and mechanical diagnosis and more - We need someone who can carry this type of work out to the highest standard, on their own initiative.

You will need to have great customer service as you will possibly be required to chat to our customers face to face and on the phone about their cars, bookings and occasionally taking payments and handing the car back to the customer once the job is complete. As we are a small busy team who need help each other so you will need to be confident working together with us, but also on your own. Basic computer skills will be required.

Our working hours are 7am till 7pm four days per week, with a rotational Friday/Monday - every second weekend is a long weekend. We would offer this position as a 7am to 5pm working hour.

What are we looking for?

​

• Experienced mechanic - minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.

• Full UK clean driving licence

• A hardworking person, who takes pride in their work and carries out their work to a very high standard.

• Ability to confidently carry out all mechanical work mentioned to a very high standard.

• BMW or VW technician would be ideal but not essential.

• Own hand tools required, including power tools. Specialist tools such as timing tools are supplied by us.

What will we offer?

• Wages offered will be up to £20 per hour, this is dependant on skills and experience. 

• 40-48 hours per week (depending on working hours chosen).
